Group of 10 Bronze Pounce Pots
18th to 19th C.
these objects were filled with sand and poured on letters from ink pens that would blot. The sand trapped the blots preventing smearing of the ink. When dried the sand was poured from the paper back into the pot. This collection spans from the early 18th century to the mid 18th century. The measurement provided is for the largest. The smallest measures 1.75” height by 2” diameter
