the continuous horizontal reeding (rattan/bamboo wrap) and fully integrated form are classic postwar resort design—very much in line with the Riviera/Palm Beach wave of the 50s–60s.  The rounded corners + cylindrical support feel distinctly 1950s Italian/French coastal modern, when designers were softening strict modernism with organic materials.
