Carved Walnut and Giltwood Cassone

Having a rectangular hinged top with a molded edge, the top opening to reveal a storage area, the front having a raised molded panel and an upper section of dentile molding highlighted in gold, flanking the front panel are two carved and gilded acanthus leaves, the bottom of the case slightly raised on a plinth-form base, the case overall supported by hand-carved lion paw feet, the depth measured to the feet not the case. Minor traces of green paint present.
