constructed in the early 3rd quarter of the 18th century in the Emilia Romagna region of Italy, specifically the town of Rolo, this exceptional and rare pair of commodes are completely veneered in walnut, tinted pearwood, and fruitwood veneer, the star motifs on the tops, sides, and drawer fronts are surrounded by folding ribbon-work inlays with outer edges of intricate marquetry, the tops and drawers having chamfered edges
